FEAR OF THE LORD
"THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM ALL WHO FOLLOW HIS PRECEPTS HAVE GOOD UNDERSTANDING. TO HIM BELONGS ETERNAL PRAISE!" Psalm 111:10
Only a week until the students arrive for their Discipleship Training School. It's an exciting time for us all here on the base, the staff (including me) have been praying into the students and the speakers for this January school. I love being on the other side of a DTS. Dont get me wrong being a student was wonderful and life changing, but I realize now, more than ever that being on staff is even more challenging and rewarding. I'm just blessed to be called by GOd to do his work and I pray every day that I wont take this ministry for granted.
I must tell you first and formost that before I came to YWAM AUSTRALIA as staff God really layed it on my heart to press into him daily. to be faithful in my quiet times and to honor God by fearing his name. I didn't really know what that ment, but I began to realize that it was more than just obeying his word. I read Deuteronomy 10:12 where God spoke to me personally by saying, "And now, O Israel (Kristin), what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your GOd with all your heart and with all your soul. and to observe the lords commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good? " FEARING THE LORD IS FOR MY OWN GOOD..this is for YOUR OWN GOOD too..to fear the name of the Lord, to fear his sovereignty, to know and understand his power and his strength. I MEAN HOW COOL to know that God has OUR BEST AT HEART!
I prayed into the YWAM SUNSHINE COAST BASE before I came here that GOd will raise up each staff person to realize how great our calling is. To convict our spirits and to draw us into a closer more intimate relationship with Him. How can "we, as staff members" effect people and nations, if we arn't practicing holiness or purity ourselves? It's time to FEAR THE LORD and that means we must be men and woman of INTEGRITY!
I'm fully encouraged to come back to this base and to join my fellow staff members and friends in practicing integrity. To have a holy desperation to honor God and to really practice integrity and holiness. Please pray that God keeps this culture of holiness alive here on our base and that we as staff can keep each other accountable..so that the students can fully see the fullness of GOd through us first...and desire to honor God as well.
I love you guys and am still so thankful for your prayer and support. I will keep you posted on what's to come..ADVENTURE IS ABOUT TO BEGIN...LIVES ARE ABOUT TO CHANGE..I can't wait to see these kids rock up here next week and full on ignite with passion and power that only the Lord can give!!!
