SCHOOL TIME
Our first student (Heather) arrived on Thursday and the little rugrats have been flowing in ever since. Today is Sunday and the last of the 20 students are arriving now. AFter everyone gets here we will have a welcome bbq tonight at 5pm at the boys student house. Our base is made up of houses that YWAM rents out in this neighborhood. We have a girls staff house a boys staff house and a boys and girls student house. I am living in the girls student house along with another staffer named Noelle. She's amazing!! Every house is within walking distance to each other. the beach is about a 10 min. walk too! it's great for the students and you know I dont mind either. :) I love how we are connected to the community because we dont live in a "dorm type house" instead we can invest in our neighborhood and having different houses allows us to get away alone with God when we need it. It's perfect.
God has been stressing how important it is to remain in him always! (john 15) God doesn't give us much to do...but he does say we are responsible to remain in him and because we remain in his love he will produce in us fruit...he will prune away all that's not of him and he will help us to grow and produce so much fruit (love, joy peace patience) everything that's of God. :)
I am so greatful to be here at this time....the conversations I've had with these students are already so God lead and God focused..these students are desperate for His presence. I am desperate to see God glorified in this school..and may this world be forever written on our hearts as we trust him daily with our lives.
I am learning to abide in Christ and to know that he's constant, never changing. That I can trust HIM and not my feeilngs or the circumstances at hand. My problems are nothing compared to the promises that God has given me. I can endure all things through Christ who gives me the strength.
Please keep this school in your prayers (there are 10 guys and 10 girls) it's a fairly young school too which can cause for home sickness or lots of fears and doubts can creep up. They are very vunerable and persuasive...so lets just pray that these people grab ahold of all that the Lord desires for them...that at this young age they will be brought to complete fullness in God. That they will know how great our God is and how much he loves them individually!
I want to be a "Jedidiah" a lover of Jesus!
Remember today is the best you've ever had...tomorrow is only gonna get better. I have to remember this myself.
love you guys!
