week 1
hello again!!! I really really wanted to post some pictures but this computer I'm using isn't working right. So, I guess a few words will have to do. I just want you all to know that the Lord has blessed this school so much! all our prayers have payed off, these kids are ready and willing to be TRUE DISCIPLES. The cost of a disciple is more than just saying "I follow Jesus". It actually means we must lay down our RIGHTS and pick up our crosses and follow God in the good times as well as the tough ones. To live is CHRIST to die is gain! right? is this really something we believe, or is this something we say so that everyone knows we are CHRISTIAN!?
I am getting smashed by how great the Lord is...His unfailing love covers all. His perfect LOVE 1 Cor. 13 is NEVER CHANGING.
There is an on going theme in this school and it's OBEDIENCE, it's SURRENDER, it's SACRIFICE. All of us are being challenged to surrender it all to Jesus and to live sold out for Christ.
This week the students learned what it means to hear God's voice. To listen instead of always asking God stuff...etc. We had the students pray about where they wanted to go on outreach, the three choices were Vanuatu, Philippines/Australia, Thailand. They all chose where they wanted to go and now the teams are set.
one of the students got bit by a white tail spider and almost died. It was really crazy. he's had 2 surgeries already and is home from the hospital now. Thank the Lord for his protection and healing. Please pray for safety for us all. Australia isn't really that dangerous...but it does have quite a few poisonous animals and insects. God is bigger though! RIGHT??
Big things are in store for us. It's already the second week of DTS and we've already had amazing intercession (prayer times) for our nations and for our families.
We have intercession every friday morning, John usually leads it, but he asked me if I would this friday. I did it!! It's always so nerve racking to get up and speak in front of people or to teach or preach, but there is nothing better than to feel the grace of God after you obeyed him and pushed past your own insecurities to give God all the Glory. I pray for more ministry times, more uncomfortable times...because it's in those times that I can't boast in myself, but can see Christ glorified.
TO HIM BE ALL THE GLORY, HONOR AND PRAISE!
GOD IS SO GOOD. I can't begin to tell you how confident I am in Christ Jesus...he has our best at heart! remember that whenever you want to doubt the Lord and his plans for your life. he only wants your best. He loves us that much.
till next time. keep chargin..and remember that there is a girl in Australia who loves and adores you and is praying for you!
thank you for your prayers and support.
much love,
KRISTIN STILWELL
